Karikkineth, which was started in 1938 by Sri.Chandippilla Geevargeese at Kaippattoor, is now adorning itself as the charming glory among textile shops in central Travancore. Sri Thomas Karikkineth who joined his father to offer him a helping hand in the business in 1978 traveled along with him all over India and learned many nouvelle techniques in textile industry. The second wholesale showroom in Pathanamthitta was started in 1984, following this, the first retail showroom in Thiruvalla under the leadership of Sri. Thomas Karikkineth. Though it was an ordinary happening, due to the experience gained from his father and his own innovative ideas, Karikkineth was on a fast track of steady progress. Following this Karikkineth started ‘Femincity’, an exclusive showroom for ladies and ‘Regalia’ an exclusive showroom for gents at Thiruvalla. There is also an attractive selection for kids named "Fashion city " under the same roof. This was in fact a milestone in the history of textile industry in central Travancore.
